It’s March and time to prepare for SFe’s best cycling event, The Santa Fe Century (May, 17th)!
Our 8 week training program is all on the bike. We’ll ride routes which cover and simulate terrain of the 100 mile event. Participants will even ride in conditions that are similar to what you’ll encounter over those 100 miles!
The training program consists of 3 rides: Intervals, Steady Pace, and a Long Ride. Intervals are on Monday evenings for approx. an hour. Steady Pace are on Wednesday evenings approx. 1 hours-2 hours. Long Rides are on Sunday mornings with distances starting at 20-25 miles building up to 75-85 miles at the end of the program.
Participants need to bring a bike in good working condition (road bike preferred), helmet, water, flat repair kit, pump/CO2 cartridge(s), snack, sunscreen. For times & locations of rides, check out our FB group page and click on the “Events” heading: https://www.facebook.com/groups/31841916836/
This program is FREE for current Pedal Queens 2015 members. Don’t have a membership, no worries! For $20 (annual membership) you get to be a card carrying member of Pedal Queens.
